As I discovered endometrium cancer
Hello readers! Today I will share with you my journey on how I discovered endometrium cancer. It was a difficult experience, but it brought me a lot of learning and the opportunity to help others who go through the same situation.
The onset of symptoms
It all started when I started to notice some strange symptoms in my body. He felt frequent abdominal pain, as well as an abnormal vaginal bleeding. At first, I thought it could be just a hormonal imbalance, but I decided to see a doctor to investigate better.
Medical Consultation
I made an appointment with a gynecologist specializing in women’s reproductive system diseases. During the consultation, I reported all the symptoms he was feeling and he decided to perform some tests to investigate the cause.
Among the requested exams was transvaginal ultrasound, which is a painless and noninvasive procedure. This exam allows you to view the uterus and identify possible changes in the endometrium.
The diagnosis
After performing ultrasound, the doctor identified an abnormal thickness in my endometrium. To confirm the diagnosis, he requested an endometrial tissue biopsy.
Biopsy is a procedure in which a small sample of the tissue is removed for laboratory analysis. This exam is essential to identify if cancer cells are present in the endometrium.
The result
After a few days of waiting, I received the biopsy result and unfortunately the diagnosis of endometrium cancer was confirmed. It was a moment of much anguish and fear, but also of determination to face this battle.
Shortly thereafter, I was referred to an oncologist specializing in gynecological cancer, who explained to me all the available treatment options and traced a personalized plan for my case.
Treatment
In my case, the treatment indicated was surgery for the removal of the uterus and nearby lymph nodes. In addition, I also had radiotherapy sessions to ensure complete elimination of cancer cells.
Throughout the process, I had the support of my family and friends, as well as participating in support groups with other women who were also facing endometrium cancer. This exchange of experiences was fundamental to keep me strong and confident.
The importance of early diagnosis
My story serves as an alert to the importance of early diagnosis of endometrium cancer. The sooner the disease is detected, the greater the chances of effective treatment and healing.
Therefore, it is essential to be aware of the signs of the body and seek medical attention when noticing any change in the menstrual cycle, abnormal vaginal bleeding or persistent abdominal pain.
I hope my story can help other women face this disease with courage and determination. Remember if you are not alone in this battle!
